PLEASE READ THIS IN IT’S ENTIRETY
The ride starts at 8:30 am from Muenster High School athletic field parking lot. 500ish 7th St Muenster, TX. Please try to be there around 7:30 to sign waivers and get your goody bags. We will have a required riders meeting at 8:15.
The long route is just over 130 miles.
The medium route is 64 miles.
The short route is 33 miles.
This is a self supported ride with no SAG vehicles. Please ride within your capabilities and carry plenty of tubes/air/supplies. We will have sweep vehicles on course to make sure everyone is cleared throughout the day but it may be hours before they arrive. Don’t plan to use sweep vehicles as a taxi. Stay on the course if your bike does break down and walk in until a sweep vehicle comes along. If you do get a ride in please check in so we know you are off the course. DO NOT attempt this ride if you are uncomfortable being 20 miles from civilization with no assistance available. We will refund your entry fee if needed.
The 130 mile route is two different laps both starting and ending at the high school. The first lap is the 64 mile medium route. There are no stores or facilities of any kind on this route. We will have unmanned water stations in place for the medium and long routes but you should still try to carry enough with you just in case. The course will be marked but we have had a history of locals moving/changing marking arrows so we always recommend having the maps on hand as well. This page will have several different gps/map sources for you to download and/or print from. We will not be providing printed maps or cue sheets. Most of the road name signs have been removed so cue sheets are essentially worthless. I will drive ahead of everyone to make sure arrows are up and pointed the right direction.
Food will be served beginning around 11am. The bike giveaway will be just before the ride start and you must be present to win. We will have additional drawings throughout the day for other giveaways. Staging is on school property so we won’t be serving adult beverages. We will have portajohns available for riders in the staging area but not on the course.
